Rose Cottage is a rustic, Grade 2 listed thatch built in 17th century in the idyllic village of Jacobstowe, Devon. Behind the doors at Rose Cottage, you will be greeted by an inviting sitting room with luxury furnishings from Liberty, complete with a TV and an open fire, perfect for those chilly Devon evenings.
Adjacent to this, you will find a snug, ideal for curling up with a good book in front of the glowing embers of the woodburner. The heart of the home is the kitchen/diner, fully equipped for all your culinary needs, where you can gather around the table to enjoy home-cooked meals. Okehampton is a busy market town on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park and near the highest and most dramatic areas of the moor, where Yes Tor rises to a height above 2000 feet. To the north of Okehampton are some beautiful rolling Devon hills where small farming villages nestle amidst woods and fields with plenty of gently flowing rivers.
The fabulous Roadford Reservoir offers a multitude of watersport activities and fishing opportunities. Okehampton has a prominent medieval castle overlooking a wooded river valley, the Museum of Dartmoor Life and Okehampton train station, which has been restored to its 1950s glory: The Dartmoor Line now operates a service between Okehampton and Exeter every hour, 7 days a week.
The town also has access to fabulous walks and Simmons Park where you’ll find a children’s adventure playground. This area of Devon has plenty of farm shops and country inns serving good food where visitors can spend time relaxing and unwinding amongst unspoilt countryside.
