Holiday cottage in Westwater, Devon - Sleeps 2 (FCH2101)

Sit out on the decked veranda to the side of this single-storey property and take in the beautiful views across the spacious green garden and the countryside beyond. This is the ideal choice for those hoping to enjoy a quiet, relaxing holiday in a beautiful area of Devon, close to the borders with Somerset, Dorset, and the dramatic Jurassic Coast.

From the spacious light and airy lounge to the huge garden with its lawn, seating area, and summerhouse, this property offers a great deal of space for a couple to enjoy a tranquil retreat. A wood burner effect electric fire and wall-mounted electric panel heaters keep the cottage nice and toasty on winter nights when you want to nothing more than to rustle up a favourite meal and get cosy with a DVD.

It would be easy for guests to spend their days here in glorious seclusion, simply enjoying one another's company and the surrounding countryside, however, there is so much to see and do in the surrounding area that it would be a shame not to head off on a few day trips. Search for fossils or enjoy scenic walks on the beaches in Lyme Regis or Charmouth which are both situated within 7 miles of the cottage or continue around the coast to the sweeping sands of West Bay, 16 miles away, recognisable to many as the picturesque backdrop to the TV series Broadchurch.

Just a mile from the cottage, the market town of Axminster has a good array of shops including a fantastic deli which is the perfect place to pick up some delicious local produce for dinner.
