Dog friendly Holiday cottage in Bickington, Devon - Sleeps 8 (FCH539)

Boasting beautiful countryside views, yet close enough to urban amenities, enjoy the best of both worlds at this property which will keep every party member happy. Sleeping eight in four bedrooms, this is one of three properties that, when booked together, sleeps 12 – allowing large parties to holiday together yet enjoy a modicum of privacy.

Take morning strolls along the estuary; soak up the sun at the beach or perhaps gather your group and tackle an escape room before heading home. With an upside-down layout, the upstairs living space makes the most of the panoramic views of the River Taw. Simple and efficient in design, the neutral palette reflects the light that pours in through the windows, giving a light and airy ambience.

Dark wood panelling and flashes of bright furnishings dotted throughout the interiors add dashes of colour on a clean canvas. With a dining table seating eight, mealtimes are a sociable affair and, with an open-plan layout, the whole party can relax in the same space together yet also have room to do their own thing.

Let the outside in by throwing open the doors leading to the balcony and breathe in the fresh sea air, or perhaps dine alfresco and watch the sunset over the river. Grown-ups can sip a glass of wine as the kids play in the shared garden. Retire to comfortable and bright bedrooms – two upstairs, two downstairs and a mix of king-size and twin rooms suiting every party make-up – to recharge the batteries for another day of fun.

Outside, the decked balcony (accessible through doors from the lounge area) has garden seating and a BBQ. With the shop within walking distance, stocking up is easy and, for days when cooking feels too much, stroll to the pub for a delicious meal.
